The Power of Micro Moments: Intentional Living Without the Overhaul

Intentional living doesn’t require a major overhaul or a bold declaration.
More often, it’s shaped through small, steady choices—micro moments that gently realign us with what matters.

Here are a few simple examples:

  • Daily gratitudes

  • Periodic self-check-ins

  • “Dates” with the people who matter most to you

  • Once a week, try something new:
a new recipe, a different genre of music, asking for help, or even doing something a little frivolous.

No huge commitment is required.
It’s in the doing that you discover what you enjoy - maybe even something you grow to love that you never imagined you would. These moments don’t disrupt your routine; they interrupt it with intention.
And over time, you may find yourself choosing to weave a few of them permanently into your life.

Recently, I signed up for a half-day stained glass workshop. I’d always been curious about it, and by saying yes, I honored that curiosity and reignited my creative side in a way that surprised me.

On the flip side, I went out to dinner at a familiar restaurant and ordered something other than my usual three go-to choices. I learned exactly what I won’t order next time.

Both are micro examples of intentional interruptions - small choices that quietly inform future decisions about how I spend my time… or what I have for dinner.

What’s one small interruption you’re willing to try this week?
